Playgroup

This Term has been busier in playgroup.

We are so grateful to welcome Silvia back to her role in leading playgroup on Tuesdays. Silvia led playgroup 10 years ago when her children (now young adults) were young.

Since then, she has pursued an array of creative endeavours, one of which includes co-hosting a monthly storytelling evening.
She brings with her so many fun and colourful shares. We are so blessed to have her back!

Playgroup is thriving, filled with a bunch of really thoughtful, present and heart-rich families. It is truly an honour to be a part of the lives of these families and children.

In entering Term 2, I noticed friendships deepen between the children, and trust grows. Our daily rhythms embrace song, circle time, baking and the sharing of morning tea, story time and lots of free play.

We have watched the giant Liquid Amber tree, quite magically, start pulling her energy into her trunk and roots for the winter. As her energy spirals inwards, she gets ready to let her leaves free into the wind... but not without a gift. A gift of glorious colour and light.
We note and celebrate this annual journey in collecting fallen leaves and rubbing their shapes onto paper with beeswax crayons.

We have started creating our lanterns in preparation for the Early Childhood Winter Festival. Our younger groups are creating their lanterns using a glass jar, leaves and coloured tissue paper. They are already starting to glow in anticipation!
Our older playgroup has been exploring the colour blue in their wet-on-wet paintings. These paintings will form the basis for their paper lanterns.
May your toes be warm and your heart even more so!
Warmth and nourishment,

Laura and Silvia x
