This term, Golden Hill saw the arrival of almost $1000 of new and award-winning fiction texts as the beginning steps toward building our high school library. Books for years 7-9 students included graphic novels, famous works by writer and visual artist, Shaun Tan, YA award-winning works, Children’s Book Council of Australia nominees, as well as novels, poems, short story collections, new releases and much, much more! Works were sourced from local, national and international publishers. Golden Hill Steiner School would like to extend a special thank you to UWA Publishing for their generous support of literacy in our high school, as well as Cate Moreton for the hours she spent covering our precious new purchases. Students have reported really enjoying reading the new texts during class time and the additional purchases have already helped enliven our English curriculum.
